HR Excellence in Research

In 2025 the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine initiated the process of the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R) to obtain the HR Excellence in Research Award.

The HR Excellence in Research Award relects institutional ongoing commitment to enhancing the working environment and support structures for researchers. This includes not only improving recruitment and evaluation practices, but also advancing wider aspects of the research ecosystem, from biosafety and data management to communication, mentoring, training, career development, equality, and professional conduct.

The HRS4R supports research institutions and funding organizations in the implementation of the Charter & Code in their policies and practices, and aims to:

  • Improve researchers’ working conditions by promoting more attractive, inclusive, and sustainable research environments;
  • Ensure fair and transparent recruitment procedures, promoting merit-based selection, equal opportunities, and international mobility;
  • Support career development by encouraging continuous training, professional mentoring, and the promotion of scientific career progression;
  • Strengthen research quality and ethics by ensuring alignment with European standards on scientific integrity, social responsibility, and data management.
