The FAUNA - Nucleus of Exotic, Wild and Wild Species of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Lisbon is pleased to announce the 13th International Conference, which will take place on 4, 5 and 6 April 2025.

 

The event is aimed to students and professionals in the areas of Veterinary Medicine and Nursing, Biology, Zootechnical Engineering and Environmental Sciences, as well as anyone interested in the topics covered.

The conference will feature three days of lectures, workshops, round tables and interactive coffee breaks, organised around different themes:

  • New Companion Animal Clinic
  • Conservation Medicine
  • Wild Animal, Aquarium and Zoo Medicine

There will be renowned international speakers such as Friederike Pohlin, Pablo Morón Elorza, Tony Nevin, María Casero, Teresa Lobo Fernandes, Rui Patrício, among others.

In addition to the talks, there will be a hotspot area, a space dedicated to interaction between participants and emerging organisations that work daily in wildlife conservation and environmental protection.

The field of Exotic and Wild Animal Medicine is constantly growing and represents an essential field for the preservation of biodiversity. As it is still a speciality with fewer training resources, this conference is a unique opportunity to learn directly from specialists from all over the world, without leaving Portugal.

How can I take part in the oral communication and poster competition?

The competition is open to all students and professionals in the field of Veterinary Medicine. To take part, you need to send an abstract by 9 February 2025, along with the requested information, to the following email address: fauna.fmv@gmail.com.

The selected posters will be exhibited during the event. The posters will be assessed by the Scientific Committee and the results will be announced at the end on 24 February. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 winners.
